Aino Eeronheimo on juuriltaan lappilainen keramiikkataiteilija, kuvanveistäjä ja kuvataideopettaja (TaM). Toimittuaan vuosia peruskoulun ja lukion kuvataiteen lehtorina Rovaniemellä hän halusi keskittyä taiteen tekemiseen. Keramiikka-artesaanin ja yrittäjän ammattitutkinnon suoritettuaan hän perusti Ainonia-nimisen yrityksen lokakuussa 2019. Nykyisin hän työskentelee päätoimisena kuvataiteilijana Studio Savealla Roihupellon Taidekorttelissa Helsingissä.
Eeronheimo vietti lapsuuden kesät mökillä Rovaniemellä. Hän seikkaili metsissä itsekseen ja teki pitkiä uinti- ja sukellusretkiä. Lappi kertoi lapselleen tarinoita. Puunrunkojen välistä pilkahtelivat ihmisten ja eläinten kaltaiset satuhahmot. Aaltojen alla seikkailivat mielikuvituskalat ja merenelävät. Luonto jatkaa edelleen tarinointiaan, vaikka metsät ja vesistöt ovat vaihtuneet.
Kesällä 2021 Eeronheimo osallistui kahdelle puukuvanveiston kurssille Juha Mennan ja Tapani Kokon johdolla. Moottorisahan ja talttojen avulla puusta kuoriutuu veistoksiin uusia elementtejä.
Aino Eeronheimo hails from Lapland. She is a ceramic artist, sculptor and visual art teacher (MA). After years of teaching visual arts at the comprehensive school and gymnasium in Rovaniemi, she wanted to start creating the art of her own. After completing a Vocational Qualifications for the ceramic artisans and for entrepreneurs, she founded company called Ainonia in October 2019. Today, she works as a full-time visual artist at Studio Savea at Roihupelto Artists’ Block in Helsinki.
Eeronheimo spent her childhood summers at the countryside cottage in Rovaniemi. She explored the nearby woods by herself and made long swimming and diving trips in the lake. Lapland revealed its fairy tales to her. She saw imaginary creatures hiding between the tree trunks and under water. Nature still tells stories to her even though the surroundings have changed.
In the summer of 2021 Eeronheimo participated in two wood sculpting courses. Thanks to teachers Juha Menna and Tapani Kokko, Aino is now able to welcome a new material into her sculptures with the help of chainsaw and chisel. Eeronheimo’s imaginative sculptures express the joy, freedom and mysteriousness she experiences in the nature. Each art piece is born as a character of its own, delicately modelled with fingertips or roughly outlined with the chainsaw. Ceramics and wood, soft and hard, blend together. The glimpse of the imagination is dressed in concrete shape and arises to life.
